How it works & your safety

Straight answers to the questions people ask before connecting an exchange. Short version: your funds stay on your exchange, your keys can't withdraw, and trading is automated from rules you set — not run by hand on our side.

Your money & keys

Can DMTrading withdraw or move my money?
No. We only keep a key the exchange confirms cannot withdraw or transfer funds. A withdrawal-capable key is rejected the moment you try to connect it — so this app can place trades but can never move money out of your account.
Where is my money actually held?
On your own exchange account (e.g. Coinbase or Binance.US). DMTrading never takes custody of your funds — they stay where they are, and we only send buy/sell orders.
Can you see my API keys?
No. Keys are encrypted at rest and only unlocked for a moment, in memory, to sign a request — never stored in readable form, and never shown to you or to our staff.

Who controls the trading

What actually places the trades?
The automated strategies you set up — rules you define for when to buy or sell — plus any orders you place yourself. Nothing trades unless your own rules fire or you act.
Can your team trade for me or change my account?
No. Trades run automatically from your strategies. By design, operators can only pause, cancel, or suspend — there is no path anywhere in the system for our team to place, change, or trigger a trade on your account.
Can I stop everything?
Yes. You can disconnect a key (we delete it) or cancel open orders at any time. Disconnecting a key immediately cuts off this app's ability to trade that account.

If something goes wrong

What if a strategy misbehaves?
Every order — automated or manual — passes risk checks before it can reach the exchange: position caps, a daily-loss limit, and price-sanity checks, plus a kill switch. New strategies can be run in paper (simulated) mode first.
What if DMTrading gets hacked?
Because the stored keys are trade-only, the worst case is unwanted trades, not theft — funds still cannot be withdrawn or transferred out of your exchange account.
What if DMTrading goes down or disappears?
Your funds are on your exchange, not with us, so they're unaffected. You can revoke the API key directly at your exchange at any time to fully cut off access.

Trying it safely & checking our work

What's the difference between paper and live?
Paper mode simulates orders with no real funds, so you can validate a strategy first. Live mode places real orders. The current mode is always shown unmistakably before you trade.
How can I verify any of this myself?
Your exchange — not us — is the source of truth: every trade we make also appears in your exchange's own order history. You can also inspect how this app is built and deployed on the build transparency page.
